Soma Blue Mountains is part of Soma Australia and Soma Global Areas – a family of evangelical churches which emphasises whole-of-life-discipleship in the context of missional community living. We long to see God’s name glorified in the Blue Mountains as it is in heaven.

With 100 adults and 60 children in our growing church we want to make a new appointment to join the team with our five part-time staff. We want someone to help lead our children’s ministry in a way that integrates the three elements of our church life: the activities in our two Sunday gatherings; the weekly ministry to children in the 11 missional communities and in the discipleship of children which occurs in families.

Our children are all in the 0-12 years age bracket and so we will be preparing for youth ministry in the coming year or two. While this will not be directly part of the Children’s Ministry Pastor’s role, it is an important next step in our church life. With church members living throughout the Blue Mountains and Penrith we want to employ someone in (or who would move to) the area and become part of our creative, missional church.

The candidate will have a love for children’s ministry, experience in developing coherent curriculum, and an ability to work with the many volunteers who make up the life of our church.

15hrs per week.
